Full day of RA training today. There were a few new terms discussed today that I hadn't really thought about before.Sizeism and Lookism. Sizeism is the discrimination towards people who are too skinny/fat and too short/tall. Lookism is the discrimination towards others based on their appearance.
For example, one could assume that the people in the picture above are 1. wealthy and 2. really smart. However, they could be here on student loans and actually be in a lot of debt. In addition, they could just be random people from St. Louis walking on WashU's campus and not have almost-ivy education. This is an example of lookism.
Turns out, I'm very prone to lookism. Whoops. Need to work on that!
